What is the best reality shifting method? How many reality shifting methods are there?

If you’ve been as intrigued as us by the recent “shifting” trend that has been going around, odds are you’ve asked yourself those same questions.

Well, because we had trouble finding a centralized and easy to understand list of reality shifting methods during our research, we decided to compile the resource below for those who are curious about reality shifting and the many popular methods it entails.

We hope you find it helpful! Do note that we did not invent these methods, and have provided credit to the original creators where we’ve been able to find them.

That said, there is little documentation of who created each one, as they have become very widespread on communities like Amino and Wattpad so if you believe there is someone who deserves to be linked/credited for the methods below, please let us know in the comments!

NOTE: This article is by no means comprehensive, but we’ve linked to as many resources as possible to help you get all the information in one place. Let us know in the comments if there are any other shifting methods you think need to be added.

1. The Raven Method

This is one of the most popular reality shifting methods. It’s often referenced on TikTok, and involves laying in a starfish position on one’s bed and counting to 100.

Usually, this is accompanied with subliminals playing and/or positive affirmations repeated between numbers.

2. The Alice in Wonderland Method

The Alice in Wonderland Method of reality shifting involves meditating and then laying on your back and imagining yourself sitting against a tree until someone from your Desired Reality runs past you, at which point you’re supposed to chase them until you “fall down the rabbit hole”.

You are then meant to find a key that will unlock the door to your DR.

3. The Pillow Method

The Pillow Method is a simple reality shifting method that involves writing down affirmations on a piece of paper, repeating them before bed and sleeping with the paper under your pillow.

4. The Heartbeat Method

The Heatbeat Method of reality shifting is a method that involves listening to the audio of a heartbeat (placed under your pillow). You are meant to listen to this audio and imagine you are laying on the chest of someone from your DR.

When the audio stops, you are then meant to imagine this person asking you if you want to go, at which point they’ll lead you to a door and open it, allowing you to enter your DR.

5. The Train Method

The Train Method of reality shifting involves imagining yourself on a train that is headed for your DR.

As you look out the window, you are meant to visualize scenes from your DR playing out while also repeating affirmations as you go.

When you’ve arrived at your destination, you should open your eyes and you will be in your DR.

6. The Staircase Method

The Staircase Method of reality shifting involves visualizing yourself at the bottom of a long staircase that you climb up.

As you climb, you should be repeating affirmations until you reach the top, at which point there will be a bright light for you to walk into that will lead you to your DR.

7. The Double Sided Staircase Method

The Double Sided Staircase Method of reality shifting involves imagining yourself starting at the bottom of a long staircase, then climbing up.

Once at the top, you will see a mirror. You are meant to observe yourself in this mirror intently, then when you feel ready to go, looking behind you will reveal a door that leads to a new staircase.

Following this staircase down is meant to bring you to a final door where someone from your DR is waiting and asking you if you’re ready to go. They will then lead you to your DR.

8. The Elevator Method

The Elevator Method has been another very popular shifting method that involves imagining yourself in an elevator, with energy levels going higher and higher with each floor you pass.

Supposedly, once your energy gets to the level it needs to shift, the elevator doors will open up to your desired reality.

9. The Eleven Method

The Eleven Method of reality shifting involves putting something over your eyes like a bandana, eye mask, etc.

Then you should listen to white noise while visualizing yourself walking up to your DR self. You should then visualize you two merging and becoming one. After you fall asleep, you should wake up in your DR.

10. The Piano Method

The Piano Method is an original reality shifting method created by Amino user cassie! here.

This method involves visualizing yourself in a grand hall, at the end of which there’s a piano. Visualize yourself turning heads as you walk towards the piano and deliver a captivating performance (preferably a song linked to your DR), at the end of which you get roaring applause.

You then tell the audience you have to go home, then you’ll walk down the hall and someone from your DR will be waiting for you. They’ll ask if you want to go home, at which point they’ll open a grand door that leads you to your DR.

11. The Intent Method

The Intent Method of reality shifting involves beginning in a state of drowsiness. After you’re comfortable, you’re meant to visualize and think of your DR (with you in it).

Once you’re close to being asleep, you should say “I intend to wake up in my desired reality” just before you fall asleep, at which point you should wake up in your DR.

12. The Tea Party Method

The Tea Party Method is a reality shifting method created by Amino user ☾꧁𝙰𝚣𝚊𝚣𝚎𝚕꧂.

This method involves meditating before going to sleep, then visualizing yourself having tea with your DR-self.

Before you fall asleep, you’re meant to visualize yourself standing up and telling your DR self that it’s time to go home. When you hug them goodbye, you visualize the two of you merging and then you should wake up in your DR.

13. The Rope Method

The Rope Method of Reality Shifting involves laying in your bed and relaxing. You are then meant to imagine an energy around your body that gets stronger and stronger.

You should then visualize your DR and when you feel ready to do so, begin to imagine your consciousness leaving your body via a rope to go to your DR.

You should climb until you reach a portal that goes to your DR.

14. The Julia Method

The Julia Method of shifting involves first doing a guided meditation, then listening to theta waves (and sometimes counting to/from 100) to relax and reach your ‘ideal state’ before beginning affirmations and visualizations to reach your DR.

15. The Five Senses Method

The Five Senses Method of reality shifting involves doing small 2 minute meditations during the day and focusing on your five senses one at a time as you meditate (e.g. what you see, what you smell, what you touch, what you taste, what you hear).

When you are ready to shift, you should then put on a subliminal while laying down, and start counting while saying (identity) affirmations.

Lastly, you should begin to tap into your five senses as you did before, one at a time, except for your DR, rather than CR, focusing on where you want to wake up. You should then wake up in your DR.

16. The Falling Method

The Falling Method of reality shifting involves meditating and getting comfortable in a sleep position, then visualizing your DR with some subliminals.

You should do this until you start to feel a bit disconnected from your CR (e.g. feeling a sense of floating or tingling), then you should visualize yourself walking through a hallway and going through a door at the end, which results in you falling down a dark hole.

You should repeat affirmations as you fall, until you find yourself at the bottom.

There, you should see another door. When you walk through it, your Desired Self should be there to greet you. Chat with them and then give them a hug, at which point you should feel yourself merging into a single person – your Desired Self. When you fall asleep and wake up, you should be in your DR.

17. The Trust Method

The Trust Method of reality shifting involves laying down in a comfortable position and saying “I trust _____ to shift me totally”, relying on a feeling of complete trust in something or someone to bring you to your DR.

You can listen to music or subliminals as you use this shifting method if you wish, or try sleeping for a bit before to bring yourself to a state that’s more open to shifting.

18. The Melt Method

The Melt Method of reality shifting involves laying in a starfish position in bed, then imagining your DR before visualizing yourself melting from your CR bed into your DR bed, focusing on that feeling of being pulled through.

You should say affirmations while doing this, including an affirmation of gratitude at the end.

19. The Sunni Method

The Sunni Method of reality shifting involves two parts: firstly, closing your eyes and picturing yourself in your DR for short periods during the day, and secondly, visualizing a short scene from your DR as you’re falling asleep while repeating affirmations.

20. Cinn’s Method

Cinn’s Method of reality shifting involves getting into a comfortable position in bed, then slowly counting to 100 while breathing deeply, imagining different parts of your DR as you count, for example, at…

  • 10 – your desired self’s voice, name, age, who they live with, etc.
  • 20 – describing in first person what your DR looks like
  • 30 – summarizing your DR family
  • 40 – repeating affirmations
  • 50 – imagining your DR house layout

Then slowly counting to 100 from there, repeating until you reach your DR at 100.

21. The Quinn Method

The Quinn Method of reality shifting involves imagining yourself waking up in your DR room, taking note of all the details through each sense.

As you get out of bed, plant your feet on the ground and imagine turning to someone important from your DR, then go in to hug them and focus on that warm feeling between you two, as you imagine spending time with them in your DR.

You can also play a song and dance with them. Once the song ends, you should go back to bed and resume the position you want to be in for your DR, and you should soon enter your DR.

22. The Mirror Method

The Mirror Method of shifting reality involves visualizing yourself in a dark room with light coming out of a mirror, where your desired self is looking at you from the other side.

You must then imagine yourself walking into the mirror and becoming one with your desired self (perhaps even visualizing your soul moving from your body to your desired self’s body as an orb).

23. The Hug Method

The Hug Method of reality shifting involves closing your eyes and visualizing yourself waking up in your DR, and seeing someone you love there.

You should then embrace them in a hug, and focus on the warm fuzzy feeling , which should be like a ball of energy that you nurture and cultivate while spending time with this person in your DR dancing, chatting, etc.

Finally, you should hug this person goodbye and get back into bed, still holding onto that ball of energy, while going to sleep and saying affirmations. You should then wake up in your DR.

24. The Alarm Clock Method

The Alarm Clock method of reality shifting involves visualizing your desired self setting up an alarm clock in your DR, taking note of what it will sound like.

You should then repeat affirmations like “I am confident I will wake up in my DR” and fall asleep. You should then wake up in your DR.

25. The Gratitude Method

The Gratitude Method of reality shifting involves saying laying down and saying affirmations about things you are grateful for.

Start first with things that apply to your CR, then transition into general things that can apply across realities, and finally transition those affirmations into things specific to your DR.

Do this until you fall asleep, and you should wake up in your DR.

26. The Eye Method

The Eye Method of reality shifting involves closing your eyes and rubbing them until you see shapes and lines, then visualizing those shapes forming in your DR, all while repeating affirmations like “I am shifting”.

You should open your eyes once you feel you are in your DR.

27. The Coraline Method

The Coraline Method of reality shifting involves meditating and then lying on your back in a cold room. You should close your eyes and visualize yourself getting up from bed and walking towards a small door that opens up to a tunnel that you crawl through.

As you crawl through, you should visualize that you’re getting closer to another door. When you reach this door, you should see light coming through it. Push through this door and stand in the light.

After the light fades, you should be in your DR.

28. The Estelle Method

The Estelle Method of reality shifting involves getting into a comfortable position and playing a song while imagining yourself slow dancing with someone from your DR.

When the song is over, you should imagine the person you’re dancing with saying “it’s time to go home”, at which point they will take you through a door that you should enter while repeating affirmations like “I am shifting”.

Once you are through the door, open your eyes and you should be in your DR.

29. The Valentino Method

The Valentino method of reality shifting involves getting in the mindset that you’ve already shifted, and shift regularly, so it’s easy for you.

You should then lay down and visualize the room you’ll be awakening in your DR, utilizing all five senses to explore the room until you fall asleep. You should then wake up in your DR.

Some optional parts of this method includes reading over your script over and over, or writing a note to someone from your DR.

31. The Lucid Dream Method

The Lucid Dream Method of reality shifting involves first being in a state of lucid dreaming, then visualizing a door behind you that leads to your DR bedroom.

You should follow that door and lay on the bed until someone from your DR arrives.

32. The Decision Method

The Decision Method of reality shifting involves repeatedly saying “I decide to shift to a reality closer to my DR” before bed, then as you feel ready to shift, saying “I decide the next reality I shift to will be my DR” before relaxing and getting into bed.

When ready, the final affirmation to bring you into your DR is “I decide I am in my DR”.

33. The Forget Method

The Forget Method of reality shifting involves laying in bed in a comfortable position and thinking about things that help relax you, imagining yourself and your CR bed in an empty room, then building your DR around your bed (while saying affirmations). 

According to the Forget method, you should then rise from your bed and explore your DR room, taking note of your surroundings, and when you return to your bed, it should be your DR bed. Crucial to this method is then setting your intentions and “forgetting” all about your CR self, before exploring your DR.

I tried to shift two times now, but everytime I open my eyes (when you‘re supposed to wake up in your dr) I was still in my room, laying on my bed… I am so upset because it‘s not working, I always calm myself, count to 100 and say affirmations at 20, 30 and 40 but it‘s just not working… can someone tell me what I am probably doing wrong?
