With destination weddings being all the rage these days, many couples around the world are flocking to paradise destinations like Hawaii and French Polynesia to tie the knot and live happily ever after.

Today, we say screw that… because why get married on a beach when you can swap rings in freakin’ Middle Earth?

No, this is not some mega nerdy dream.

Since 2002, the folks over at Hobbiton Movie Set in New Zealand have welcomed hordes of eager LOTR fans for nerdtastic tours of their property, the one made famous by the LOTR and Hobbit trilogies. As Instagram suggests, this experience in itself is lifechanging, but imagine saying your vows and “I dos” within the lush greenery of the Shire.

I mean, just get a Gandalf cosplayer to officiate, and then you’ve really got a party going.

Doting brides and grooms can book the space and choose from two ceremony venues: the green Hobbiton Gardens or the Yard Flat, which of course, overlooks the great Party Tree.

And, in case you still haven’t melted into a puddle of nerd tears, the reception can take place in either a real-life replica of the Green Dragon Inn or in a Party Marquee modelled after the one from Bilbo’s farewell birthday party!

The catch? Weeeellll it’s not exactly cheap… According to the hobbitontours.com Wedding Pack, the venue alone costs $6,000, with an additional $75 per person for the Hobbiton tour/admission, plus buffet menus starting at $65 per head. But when said ceremony occurs in the lush gardens of the Shire? Can we really put a price on that?

… well probably, if you’re a reasonable adult… but let us dream.
